Synopsis

This publication presents the Franciscan University (UFN), an institution that identifies itself through its mission to promote technical, scientific and cultural formation, based upon ethics, humanism and commitment to the development of a more just and solidary society.

Since its origin as a college in 1955, it has carried out a path of academic transformation. A revolution that it was only possible through perseverant work of its superior administration, its managers and the engagement of the academic community individuals in its distinct times in history, engaged as much with the institutional principals as with the responsibility to structure new answers to constant challenges of reality.

The dynamics of human evolution, knowledge and technology comes to an impressive time that provokes the integration between science and technology as more qualified supports to life itself. In such direction, the Franciscan University presents its proposal of higher education considering that it is the human being who thinks and reflects upon the meaning of science and life. Therefore, education is an indispensable condition.
